I’m Ladonna Sherwood, a lifelong resident of Beaumont, Texas, and a proud graduate of Ozen High School. My educational journey took me to Lamar University and the University of Houston, where I studied Public Relations. Over the years, I’ve built a fulfilling career rooted in service and dedication, running two small businesses—L&L Transportation and Independent insurance agent-- and working as the corporate compliance officer for both Aspire2Dream and AimtoAchieve.
My passion for helping others has guided me to participate in various local organizations actively. I’ve been honored to serve as Public Relations Chair for the NAACP and am a proud member of groups such as 100 Black Women, Coalition Black Democrats, Black Voters Matter, and Believe and Achieve. I’ve had the privilege of speaking at HPAC (Hispanic Proactive Coalition) and organizing events like Beaumont’s Got Talent to provide local youth with a platform to shine. I’ve also served on the Steering Committee for the Parks Committee in Beaumont, furthering my commitment to our city’s development.
I am a devoted wife, mother, and long-time community organizer. My belief in Beaumont’s potential drives everything I do. I’m running for City Council Ward 3 because I’m dedicated to fostering collaboration, strengthening community ties, and working toward a brighter future for us all. With my motto, “Come and Talk to Me,” I want to be a council member who listens, understands, and advocates for every resident’s needs. Together, we can make Beaumont stronger.
